THE LANGUEDOC IN OCCITANIE
The Languedoc region is incredibly rich, offering an amazing diversity of landscapes and an incredible wide range of possible activities. Rosis is ideally located right on the entrance of the "Haut Languedoc" National Park.
This natural park is an area entirely dedicated to nature conservation since its creation in 1973. Gorges, rivers and medieval villages are scattered in its immense spaces.
Enjoy, walking, rivers swimming, hiking, canoeing and sampling fresh local produce in magical and stunning settings such as a simple river-side tavern or an old spinning mill rehabilitated as a bistro-restaurant.
In the direction of Montpellier, there is a dramatic change of scenery as you pass through the red earth and rocks around the intriguing Lake Salagou.
Closer to the Mediterranean, small country roads will take you through endless vineyards leading to the beautiful town of the French writer Molière : Pézénas.
This center is a jewel of beautifully restored historic buildings and monuments, perfect for people who love wandering narrow streets filled with small craft and designer shops and bustling cafes and restaurants.
Between Pézénas and the coast, and in a contrasting style, you'll find the magnificent Canal du Midi, ideal for a relaxed boat or bike ride.
The coastline itself offers a wide range of possibilities! Relax and swim on the huge wild beach at Sérignan plage, or visit the busy, picturesque port of Sète, renowned for fantastic seafood restaurants, and an endless boardwalk with a variety of beach bars, cafes, sun-loungers and sound systems having something to suit all tastes. Sète is also well known for its high quality summer music and arts programme!
Without mentioning all the countless wineries offering tours and tastings of their excellent production.
All these places are located from 20 minutes to 1 hour's drive from your retreat center, here in Rosis, south of France.
